I just want to say that I really love the cars from the 70’s. Yes they may have been strangled by emission regulations, and saddled with those hideous bumpers, but compared to the cars that were produced during the 80’s, 90’s, and now, they had a certain appeal, a certain look, and they were available in color. The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was a car for that era, and after it was the central character in the Bert Reynold’s Film “Smokey and the Bandit”, one of the most recognizable. However, this particular Trans Am will need a lot of love from a new owner before it can be brought back to its former glory… Where do I start? It looks like this poor Pontiac has been locked away for quite some time, with parts strewn everywhere in a small storage bin. According to the listing:

I think he went all-out, so it ought to have a Raybestos kit in it. Engine is a resto-mod. Something like $3500 in the rebuild, again, just in labor. Crane cam, went on the medium end of performance upgrades – it’s not too much, and not so little you won’t notice it. Edelbrock Performer intake on it, not the RPM, which means that the shaker hood will still work on the car. Casting stamps were taken off of the stock intake, and transferred to the performer so it looks stock. That’s a $274 part. Block and heads were magna-fluxed during the rebuild, so they’re known good. It’s an MSD-type distributor with it… I think Pertronix? There’s a $300 part. Frame and entire undercarriage wire-wheeled, and sealed with POR-15. New eyebrows, NOS rear quarter. Can’t think of much else right now. the rear end has not been rebuilt, and will need done before someone puts the car together – I was just going to throw a Detroit Tru-Trac in it.

The price for this project is $3,800 Firm, and the seller states that this is the his bottom dollar figure. I don’t know about his rock bottom figure, but there seems to be a lot of parts housed within this container that you could simply buy everything, and sell them off piece by piece, and make a chunk of change.
