This is the Hooniverse Burning Man or “Art Car” weekend, and our next entry might be a bit of a stretch calling it an “Art Car”, but it would be perfect for Burning Man, even if it’s only used to transport you and your main squeeze to the event. This is a particularly nasty 1962 Pontiac Ambulance that is close to Austin, Texas, and according to the listing, it runs…

According to the listing:

This beast runs and drives. It has a great 389 auto and 411 posi. Yes, it will actually smoke the tires. Originally built for the air Force it has 68,000 miles on it. The windshield is standard Catalina or Bonneville. Very cool vintage air cleaner. I will include a Texas bonded title in the price if you don’t try to beat me up on it. The blue paint you see is original. Would be great for advertising, a Harley Hauler, art car, etc.

Asking price for this retro Ambulance is $3,900, to which I say is total crack pipe. I know, I’m suppose to be objective here, but this is a lot of money for what is essentially lawn art. There will be a lot of work to get this thing road legal, before you start turning it into the Ambulance from Hell. See the listing here, and tell me what you think of it.

Maybe the most interesting car so far, if not for the "art". The odd ambulance or hearse tickles my urge to build a quick and nice camper, and this one is among the cooler alternatives. If done nicely, of course…

A 389 with a 4.11 Safe-T-Track? Not exactly a highway cruiser. But then it was designed to drive around on an Air Force base.

Wasn't one of these supposedly JFK's last ride in Texas?
Either way, if I had the cash, this one would be a cool ass touring for this olelongrooffan.

The current "patina" and decorations are literally PERFECT for Burning Man just as they are! Maybe add Burning Man logos on the passenger doors…..
