Watch Wyatt Knox break down 18 driving clips from various movies

Wyatt Knox is a man who knows all about car control. He’s a lead instructor at the Team O’Neil Rally School, and one hell of a wheelman. Wired sat him down to get his opinion on a variety of driving scenes from various films.

Yes, it’s clear to anyone that a number of these are fake. But Wyatt does a great job of breaking it all down. He’s also here to burst your bubble about potential skyward trips in an old Dodge Charger. Yes, that jump was sweet as hell… but no, no one is pulling that one off and driving away.

Click play and listen to Wyatt explain the driving scenes from 18 films.

A “ruggedizing” skid plate to protect the oil pan is something I could really like as a mostly invisible mod. As I enjoy some good, spirited driving on gravel roads, you never know when a rock will be just in the wrong spot. For now, I have only dinged oil pans and broken suspension parts, but that’s my real world takeaway: Skid plates are good.
