Watch Carfection review a Jaguar XJR-15… in the rain!

This is a car that should properly terrify you, I’d imagine. On a dry day, a Jaguar XJR-15 would likely prove to be a handful. So I believe Henry Catchpole is doing a good job of hiding the true level of nervousness as he pilots this particular example around a very wet racing circuit. Especially, when you consider this specific car is for sale through RM Sotheby’s and has an asking price of nearly $2MM.

The Jaguar XJR-15 is an oddball of the early supercar era. It wasn’t built by Jaguar, but by Tom Walkinshaw’s Jaguar Sport sub-brand. Just 27 examples were built for the street. It has the same tub as the XJR-9 race car, which won at Le Mans. Out back sits a monstrously loud 6.0-liter V12 engine that makes 450 horsepower. Pretty good for a car that weighs just over 2,300 lbs.
