Wanted: BMW Technician, Mercedes-AMG Experience a Plus

United BMW is looking for a new technician, preferably one with good experience and mechanical knowledge, is good with kids, and can tell the difference between a BMW roundel and a Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star. I promise this is real.

While the stock photo is a glitch (or a sense of humour up our alleys), the actual job description at Penske Automotive (http://bit.ly/2tyvp15) is surprisingly comprehensive: the bread-and-butter ad is looking for a wrencher with certificate, that’s all. Listing a lot of bullets that are ideally a matter of course, I realise that they encompass what’s been ruining my workshop experiences. If they get what they’re looking for, I can calmly recommend that workshop.
(I’m a dude on the web, and on a different company, you should really consider my verdicts – think of this being a five-star rating on Amazon.)

Could be that they’re trying to snipe AMG-trained techs from Mercedes dealerships?

That is the second highest tier of signing bonus they’re willing to pay. First tier is BMW certified techs.

Heh, that’s odd. I just got hired as a BMW Technician.
    That N55B30 looks funny.
