Toyota Supra Shooting Brake

This is the new Toyota Supra imagined as a shooting brake

I can’t hide the fact that I don’t care for the look of the new Toyota Supra. The front end of the 2020 GR Supra is a little too phallic. It looks similar to the older noses of the 2011 Mercedes SLK and Mercedes-McLaren SLR. That doesn’t work for me. It’s not my aesthetic, and I don’t believe it has anything to do with the car it replaces… all these years later.

There’s a way to make it better though, and it has nothing to do with the old Supra. What if you were to turn the new Supra into a shooting brake? Does it retain its sports car heritage? Who cares, since It’s mostly a re-bodied BMW anyway.

We’ve seen other sports cars turned into wagons before. The Callaway Aerowagen, for example. And I hope there are more to come, but the rest of the public just does not see the benefit to these expanded cargo areas and better-looking cars. I’m already trying to earn more money for the launch of the Audi RS6 Avant in 2020.

*fingers crossed I’ll at least get to borrow one*

The rendering of the Supra was done by Rain Prisk and you can watch him give the original car a facelift in Photoshop in the video he posted to his channel:

The shooting brake Supra might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I like it though. And now I’m left wondering about other sports cars that could use a shooting brake treatment?

Ford Mustang Country Squire, anyone?

Needs less tapering of the cabin sides IMO, compare the Volvo 1800S and ES for example

If I wanted a new Supra rear end design, it’d be something like this, with a better integrated wing.
