This customized 4Runner can be your urban assault bro rig

At first glace, you have seen this before. It’s just another heavy duty truck modified for armored SWAT duty. Then you notice the paint and it appears that this is just another heavy duty truck modified for armored SWAT duty, that’s been further modified for armored luxury lifestyle. Every issue of duPont Registry is filled with them, so let’s move on.

Except that this isn’t a heavy duty truck. It has not been modified for SWAT service. And it’s isn’t in any way luxurious.

This is Toyota 4Runner SR5, a base model too, without leather seats or a sunroof. And it’s has been modified to look like a heavy duty truck that’s been modified for SWAT duty, and then repurposed as a luxury lifestyle vehicle. So, it’s a replica of a replica of a replica. Or something like that.

Yes, the seller’s website does have over 100 pictures of this creation, if what we have posted here isn’t enough for you. No, we really don’t know what the hell is going on here. Some observations:

  • There is a lift kit installed, one is needed to fit 33-inch tires on a 4Runner.
  • Rear taillights seem to be off a Chevy Tahoe.
  • I think those are factory running boards.
  • Ford Super Duty door handles.
  • Custom dual exhaust.
  • Good quality rear off-road bumper and spare tire carrier.
  • The interior is completely stock.
  • Nowhere on the website is the overall look and body modifications even mentioned. We’re assuming they let the pictures do the talking.
  • We don’t know what else is and isn’t going on here but we think someone had a plan. The quality actually appears to be pretty solid-ish?

We love and own 4Runners around here.  But in this case we are… just trying to un-see this.

It has a very WW1 armored car look to it especially from the front. Which begs the question of whether you can open and close the front louvers over the radiator. They were meant to look like that if you came under fire and you could open them if you weren’t. This theme even applies to the Jerry can on the back. Although welds really seems to be the theme here.

227 miles in four years. This thing is not even tested proper.

Arguably has been thoroughly tested for intended use, hard parking

Wonder what would be left after a trip down a washboard gravel road…

The douche is strong with this one.

ETA: That is some quality work right there:

Yes. Parking crossways over a disabled spot and photographing it only helps to boost the douche rating.

I’d expect nothing less from anyone involved in any way with this. At least it appears to be at the dealership, and not out in the wild.

Are those Yukon Denali tail lights?

Interesting that it seemed like a good idea for long enough to finish all of that work, but not long enough to actually drive it anywhere.

It’s not TruckAlero bad, but it has a lot of the same issues going on.

At first glance I thought this was a joke. Digging deeper only confirms it.
