The McLaren Senna is an ugly machine, and these laps shows why that’s a good thing

A McLaren Senna is a focused, purpose-built machine. It’s a true race car for the road. Normally that is quite a cliche phrase, but it’s perhaps most honest when uttered about the Senna. McLaren employs a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 which produces 789 horsepower. That juice is sent rearward through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. If you know what you’re doing behind the wheel, everything works together to create magic. And as the driver of the Senna in the video below shows, that magic happens at warp speed.

Misha Charoudin hopped in the passenger seat and brought his GoPro along. The resulting footage shows a driver who understands the limits of the track and his car. He’s pushing his Senna about during a tourist day at the Nürburgring. Traffic seems light, but it’s there in spots. And a gentle sprinkle is in the air. None of that bothers the car or the driver. This is, as the video states, a full send of the Senna at the ‘Ring, and it’s wonderful.

Next time though, just turn the infotainment off to avoid the system thinking the engine is shrieking voice commands at the car. That bit is kind of funny.

Regardless, this video is a treat to watch. The owner of a very expensive yet very capable car using it in the way the engineers and designers had envisioned.

The senna is essentially if someone took a regular McLaren and turned it into a time attack car. It’s all about crazy aero.
