The Cammed & Tubbed Podcast: Episode 84 – Twelve Cars W/ Rob Siegel

C&T 84

Cam and Brad are joined this week by the ghost of Jason’s crashed GarageBand program and the famous BMW fanatic and Hack Mechanic and author, Mr. Rob Siegel. If you aren’t familiar with Rob, you really should be. I reviewed his book about a year ago, and found it fantastic. If you haven’t got a copy of his book yet, you really should, and this podcast will probably talk you into it. He’s a genuine car guy that has a lot to talk about. So lets get into it.

This episode’s topics include: The 3 D’s, a bit of LA Auto Show discussion, a little bit about Rob’s new book and his work at Bentley Publishers, all of our car collections (of which Rob’s 12 cars shames the remainder), some talk about beer, some talk about music, ideal daily drivers, how to avoid killing yourself when looking at BMWs, Gymkhana 7 was a year ago, Brad’s new garage guest, and other fantastic topics. As usual, click past the jump to see our weekly DashCam videos.

Apparently I was the only one to release a video this week, as my co-hosts are slacking.

I hardly comment since I’m weeks behind, but here’s something, since you’ve almost been begging in earlier episodes:

I just listened to the ‘Eskimo Brothers’ episode with Mental Warden… it really clicked, I laughed out loud both on a bus and in the gym pulling oars. That 944 with a switch for each basic function of a car: you are THAT PO who fucked up the wiring? I though it was me bondo’ing the bolts that hold the foglamps… Previous owners are punks anyway. Should I ask on 944online or rennlist who bought it, or rather not?

Another episode I liked a lot was the one with Antti. Kudos to him being available at that time of his day – I can relate to many of his views and experiences, living in a similarly northern corner of Yurp… I wouldn’t mind him getting up early/staying awake late again, but who am I to ask.

Generally, I like it when people (both you and guests) nerd out on anything, including things I don’t know anything about – it’s always great to see people being passionate about something, be it movies of the 80ies or music I have never heard of.

And: that sticker “Go ahead and sit in it – it’s not the fucking Mona Lisa” (that episode mentioning this must be months old) – I want one, just in case you’ll make them.

Thank you for your comments. It means a lot that people actually listen to us. We do it for fun, but it’s such an awesome feeling that people care about our opinions.

      1. POs are terrible people. Always.

      2. Antti is an amazing person. He’ll be on future episodes, I promise.

      3. We all nerd out about everything. Glad to know it’s listener-approved.

      4. That will be our first decal. I’ll let you know when it is printed…
