That’s right, it’s a 1953 Moretti 750 Gran Sport. PFG “spit out” the correct answer after first addition an extraneous and kind of embarrassing appendage. Moretti got his start making motorcycle engines, transitioning to cars after WWII. This Gran Sport rocks a 748-cc dohc four that puts out a bantam 71 horsepower. The Michelotti bodywork of this berlinetta is just as avant garde as the motor, but the chassis below is more plebeian with leaf springs holding up both ends- transversely in front and attached to a live axle in the rear. You can check out more pictures and some further details of this little Moretti at Sports Car Digest. And my congratulations to PFG, even though your first stab was a little hard to swallow.
