Daycare is closed. Time still needs to be occupied, and attention given. So when I have the 2020 Audi S8 in my garage, I need to move the car seat over to it and get kiddo out of the house. She joined me on a quick adventure in this super sedan.

The 2020 Audi S8 is built on the bones of the excellent A8. The shape and style are still sleeper slick. All of the tech inside is top tier, looks good, and is easy to use. And under the hood lives a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. Here it’s making 563 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough motivation to get this hefty four-door from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds. Crazy quick.

No, it’s not cheap. The starting price is around $130,000. But for a long time, the A8 and S8 lived in the shadows of the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. That’s not the case anymore. The 2020 Audi S8 is the executive rocket ship you’ve always expected it could be. In the past, it was always “good” but now it’s just as good, if not better than, its other German rivals.
