Last Call: What about a little Honda e 2000GT?

I know we talked about the Honda e not that long ago and the consensus seemed to be that everyone kinda liked it but was bummed to hear it wouldn’t be coming to the states. Now, not that this is even being made but what do you think of this Miata-like Honda e? I personally love it just as much as the e if not more. The idea of a light electric sports car is very intriguing to me since they’re not particularly light. I don’t know if a front-mounted battery would be more beneficial than a low floor mounted one but hey I’m all for the styling. I really enjoy this vintage style that Honda has at least showed they are capable of. It looks great and I hope they continue with it. Thoughts?

I don’t think the Japanese have gotten over the cancellation of the Aibo. I see this little head in the nose of that car.

And much like a puppy, its paws are awkwardly oversized to its body.

I hope the hardware poking out at the back of the fenders is indicative that the car has suicide doors.

Looks like it has a range of about a meter.

      Rearview cameras, most likely.

This is giving me range anxiety.

No reason to be anxious, that’s not a rotating floor it’s a cable drum.

Sign me up! An electric runabout with a long wheelbase, long hood, nice and low. So not SUV.
    Also: Round headlights! Goat eyes!

I’m curious when we’ll get a more traditional EV sports car (non Lotus-Tesla or in-space Tesla roadster)? If they can work out the packaging (i.e. a bunch of batteries in a smallass car) it should be pretty rockin. Instant torque would fix most of the issues of the Miata.

Well, there’s the New Roadster from Tesla. Although, a lot of people are curious when we’ll get that, too.
Anyway it’s a 4 seater. Tesla’s trying to act like an established manufacturer by reviving a defunct model name and applying it to a bigger, fatter, heavier car.

hehe yeah that was the “in space” version I was referring to.

I am convinced that if Honda gets this ball rolling, others will follow. The weight issues with EVs can be overcome by offering a smaller, efficient battery pack, a philosophy the e already employs. Driving our Leaf like a sports car is like asking granny to twerk, but there are some weird situations were I can see the fun in it anyway.
