Last Call- Blow It Out Your A** Edition

FUBAR2
From the June 1972 issue of Car Craft comes this ’61 Corvair, built by Richard Guess, that drops the pancake six for a Blown 327 Chevy, in all its bass-akwards glory. FUBAR indeed.

I just watched that. It's an amazing documentary.
Eric Bana and his Falcon, he had it since he was 16 and kept racing it with all his childhood friends.
      It's every Hoon's dream.

Damn! It's like "Corvair Week" at Hooniverse! Not that there is anything wrong with that. BTW, being that it is last call and we are allowed to wander off topic…have I mentioned lately how much this site kicks ass? I feel it necessary to mention this from time to time. It has been the best seven weeks of my car blog-following/commenting career (which is approaching three years now).

Agreed. Hooniverse is the highlight of my internetting. Aside from Hell For Leather, this is the only blog that I feel welcome to make comments. I guess that has to do with the attitude of fellow hoons. Thanks hoons.

Whoops. The Guinea Pigs went mental again and the IntenseDebate thingy is not working, the page looks like a cartoon. I'm denumbered and so's everybody else. It'll probably come back up in a minute, who cares, anyway.
However, I agree with citroen67. I like the fact that it's Corvair Half a Week on the Hoon, and like him I've been enjoying the hell out of this endeavour (put in a u for Dearthair). Good fun here. You guys are doing a great job, keep up the good work.
I'm not gonna belabor the fact of why this is here or why we all are having a great time doing this. We all know that. It's a beautiful thing that it seems to be working out well, and it's gonna go places. Good places. Excellent talent here, and I'm happy to be a part of it.
Having said that, the blown V8 in that Corvair seems to be looking backwards at whoever is behind it saying "Nyahh, nyahh!"

Good times all around. I, too, hope the site makes a million dollars. Or at least a hundred.
I don't know which I'm more amazed about, the fact that somebody put a Chevy Small-Block V8 at the rear of a vehicle, or the fact that the California DMV allowed through the word "FUBAR". I'll have to sleep on that one.

I think the super Covair is set up perfectly for wheelies.

I think it would be difficult not to do wheelies in that.

I remember that car, the owner of Goody’s Speed Shop in San Jose, CA, built it and used it as the store “mascot” for decades.
