That’s a lot of coin… but that’s a wild machine.
Ken Block’s amazing 1977 Ford F-150 turned Hoonitruck is for sale. Offered by brokerage firm LBI Limited, the asking price is a crispy $1,100,000. And I’ll be honest, that price doesn’t shock me for what’s being offered here. The Hoonitruck features a monstrous 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine developed by Ford Performance and Roush Yates. This isn’t a tuned Raptor engine but a mighty mill plucked from the Ford GT Le Mans racing program. It produces 914 horsepower and 702 lb-ft of torque, and it’s backed by rally-proven Sadev 6-speed sequential gearbox.
Pretty much everything you’re going to find on this is a one-off special for the truck. Ken has heavy demands for what he wants from a Gymkhana vehicle, and this truck is no exception. And I’d argue it’s one of, if not the, coolest machine he’s used in his videos. The Mustang is awesome, and all the rally cars are great, but this truck rules extremely hard.
Yes, it’s a lot of money to ask for a heavily modified old truck. But obviously, the Hoonitruck is much more than that. It’s a wicked exploration into what’s possible on a money-is-no-object built for a driver who plans to deliver tremendous vehicular abuse. The resulting vehicle is incredible, and I suspect someone is going to spend that much for “an old truck”.
