Oh Sweet Jesus… Marry Me Ken Block

Rally-Prepped STI ... on Trax ... I'm crying.
Rally-Prepped STI … on Trax … I'm crying.

Calm down, Braff… b-r-e-a-t-h-e…
Ken Block is a first ballot Hoon-of-Famer, there is no question about that – however the man continues to add to his already-long list of hoontastic achievements. Hop the jump to see this baby in action…

Is DC Shoes the greatest company on the planet? You might scoff at this question, but take a minute to think about it. They have made possible two things that continue to make me smile – Rob Drydek’s Fantasy Factory (arguably, the current young adult description of the word FUN) and Ken Block (the man who makes hoons around the world bow down at his skate-shoe wearing feet).
When I watched this video for the first time, this was my expression for the other 33 times that I hit play:
My face right now, except with more tears of joy...
My face right now, except with more tears of joy…

We currently have just one member of the Hoon Hall of Fame, but Ken Block will be in there someday without question. We just have to build his wing of the building first…

I don't know how Ken Block has this much money to throw around (DC Shoes was purchased for $87 million five years ago) but I don't care. The world is a better place for it. The agility displayed by the Subaru was what I had hoped to see from that propeller and rotating drum powered Tatra snow machine thing.

Thanks, Braff, you've just added Trax to the wishlist for my Stage IV G60-powered quattro Iltis project. This is turning into a bigger project all the time, and I don't even have the Iltis yet.

I suddenly want to put Trax on my Mustang. Hmmmmm…the S195 is a [heavily] modified DEW98 chassis. The DEW98 was originally designed to be able to accept AWD. The V6 in my Mustang is the same 4.0L mill used in the Ranger, which has a 4WD variant. Do you think I could cram the 4WD drivetrain from the Ranger under Maggie? 4WD Mustang anyone?
/scurries off to work out the details…

Ferguson built a few Mustangs in the 1960s with their prototype 4wd system. If I remember correctly, and I read this 10 years ago, I think Jensen used it and it was somehow chain driven. Somebody on here knows more about it than I do.

If Ken Block is our Messiah, does that make Travis Pastrana our Peter?
Ken Block said, "And I also say to you that you are Travis, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the traps of Sno*Drift shall not overpower it."

      I'm digging the Mustero!
I don't want to lift the Mustang…much. Hmmmm…give it 4WD and a small, if any, lift then enter it in Sno*Drift!
Damn, my dreams are growing exponentially and you all are only encouraging it. I guess that's what I get for hanging out here.

I guess now would be a good time to mention to the Hooniverse that Ken Block is, according to Autosport Magazine and other sources, joining the WRC with Chris Atkinson to form the Ford/Monster Energy Drink World Rally Team. According to reports, they'll be doing limited events in an '09 WRC spec Focus next season before going full time in the 2010 WRC spec Fiesta the following year. An American driver, in an American car, in the World Rally Championship………Ken Block may indeed be the Messiah, after all.
