Just Cuz I'm A Happy Camper

This olelongrooffan is sitting here enjoying the Atlantic Ocean breeze flowing through my Taj Mahal and feeling a bit antsy. So, I thought I would share with my fellow Hoons some of the vintage tin cars and plastic Tonka Corvettes I scored at a swap meet down in Sarasota last weekend. The Chevy Coke truck I acquired from a friend’s estate last year (RIP Tom).

As I’m not really into this scale tin cars nor do I possess a vintage Tonka car carrier, this beauties are headed to ebay a little later this evening. But that mid 50’s Chevy Coke truck isn’t leaving my possession ever!!
Total price of these six collectables? $23!! Hell yeah!!

If you're looking for a way to describe them in your listing, those last three are loosely based on the 1959 Ford.

Dude…..I was just looking through some posts with the tag "oddities" on my blog and came upon this one, long before I had a presence in the Hooniverse. And who says the web ain't small!

So here's a question for Perfesser Harrell …
Does the grindstone drive cause the tires to wear rapidly? How many miles do you get out of a pair of rear tires?

It pains me to admit I haven't yet gone through a set of tires, unlike this ambitious fellow:

but yes, the rears seem to be wearing out at about twice the rate of the fronts. I should still be able to get perhaps a couple thousand miles out of them, though. I'm running Cushman scooter tires (4.00 x 8) from Coker. KV originally made their own rear treads and vulcanized them onto Michelin casings, but Michelin no longer makes this size. Even the Michelins that were on both of my KVs when I got them were replacements with standard tread, so I've never seen the originals.

I'm in a heated bidding war on Ebay for a 1/43 Heidfeld Sauber C29. It's from the 2010 Brazil race where he placed SEVENTEENTH and it's up to $75. There is something seriously, seriously wrong with this world.

You can get the Tonka car hauler pretty cheap because they're usually missing the cars. It's a mint green one with a COE tractor.
