Jackie Stewart – Weekend Of A Champion

The roar of Cosworth DFV V8s filled the air in 1971.  Sir Jackie Stewart slid his Tyrrell-Ford to victory from pole in the 1971 Monaco Grand Prix.

While the Monaco race is always a special one, this one was even more exciting for Stewart.  He would be followed for the entire weekend by friend and director Roman Polanski.  Focusing on the moves and maneuvers of Stewarts preparations for the grand prix, Polanski got an intimate view of the lead up to a race with Jackie and Helen Stewart.

A phenomenal view, great sounds, and an interesting focal subject.  This video could not get better.  I have been wanting to watch this film for quite some time, but don’t own a VCR, and couldn’t find a reasonably priced copy even if I did.  Thank goodness for the internets.
