Hooniverse Weekend Edition – Jeep vs Jeep… Which would you choose?

If you haven’t guessed by now, I am posting whatever I feel like weekend. A little bit of this, a whole lotta that, mixed with our fans, and you get some crazy postings without a theme. This time, I am doing a showdown with two different Jeeps that couldn’t be more different if you tried. The first is a mint 1947 Willys Overland Station Wagon that is so over restored it comes off as a Jeep equivalent of Joan Rivers. The second Jeep is a J20 Pickup that has received a paint job with so much orange peel that you wonder if it ever suffered from acne. So, which would you choose?

First, let’s discover this way over-restored Willys Wagon, and according to the listing:

1947 Willys Overland Jeep Station Wagon Woodie Woody. NO RESERVE!!!

Restored. Excellent Condition. This Jeep was restored by a former Army National Guard motor pool mechanic. Very reliable and fun Woody. 4 cylinder with Overdrive. Can travel at highway speeds with great MPG. Radial White wall tires. Heater. Concealed am/fm radio.

I have driven this woodie over 3000 miles in the past several touring seasons.

Let me make one thing clear, this isn’t a Woody at all. It is one of the first Steel Bodied Station Wagons produced in the post war period. It was just painted to look like a wood bodied wagon. This is a very good looking truck, but the price will make your heart stop at $34,900, and that’s the opening bid! See the listing here, and you tell me if this Willys is worth that kind of scratch.

Now onto the J20. This listing is quite a bit different from the last one. Here is the Jeep according to the eBay listing:

Listed is a 1978 Jeep J20 Full-size Pick-up in good condition for a vehicle that is 30 years old. The truck is in good running condition and has a AMC 360 V-8 with 45,000 original miles, auto, Model 20 Transfer Case, Dana 44 front and Dana 60 Rear. The interior is in great condition! everything works great , this interior is 100% factory including the original AM Jeep Radio which works great. very unique !

NICE 1978 BARN FIND WITH 45.487 ORIGINAL MILES IM TOLD! i did not put the miles on the truck we took it in this way ! THE TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN ARART ALL ORG ! INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAP AS IS THE GLASS ! WE PAINTED THE TRUCK BECUAS IT WAS DULL ! LOOKS GREAT NOW CALL WITH ANY QUESTION ! 360 CI ALL WHEEL DRIVE !

It’s as if two different people wrote this listing, so why not take a look at it, and decide if this J20 is the truck of your dreams. Current bid is at $3,300 and it has met its reserve. (Psst Tim, this would make a great companion to your Wagoneer, but don’t tell the Mrs.)
