We received this delicious tip from OA 5599 (Thanks Man!) about a vehicle that has been rarely spotted in the states. What is unusual about the vehicle is the fact that is was crafted by one of the Detroit Big Three for Mexican consumption only. Introducing the 3rd generation of the Dodge Ramcharger.


According to all things Wikipedia (Hey, its on the internet, so it should be correct!):

In 1999, a new Ramcharger was produced in Mexico based on the second generation Ram pickup and using parts from the Dodge Ram pick ups and other Chrysler vehicles. Sold only in Mexico, where the previous generation Ramcharger had been quite successful, it was not offered in the U.S. Because of this and other issues, this generation never enjoyed the sales of the previous generations of Ramchargers. Powered by the 5.9 and 5.2 Litre (360 CID and 318 CID) Magnum V8 and offered only in 2WD versions, it was discontinued around 2002. The rear hatch door was borrowed from 1996–2000 model Dodge Caravan.

And look, I found two Mexican Market Ramchargers for sale. The first one I spotted is on Autotrader, and the listing states:

RARE Dodge Ram Charger SLT in great shape and mechanically sound. Non smoking Adult Owner. No accidents to report of. The vehicle runs just like it was new. Includes After Market 24 Chrome Akuza Wheels and After Market Jensen Radio with original factory radio as well. This car has been well maintained, on time, with all recommended services and oil changes; recent records available. Smogged 5/ 2010. Registration and Pink Slip in hand. On the outside, its nice looking, no chips or dings, just a small easily fixable crease above back wheel on drivers side and also a missing plastic corner that goes to side step I have the piece but it does not perfectly match the cars color. The half leather/ half cloth interior is solid and in great condition with only normal wear, but there is a minor tear in drivers seat to report (see pic). Everything in perfect working condition except for cigarette lighter which is missing a piece. This Ram Charger SLT is a very rare find! Im sure you will be the only person you know who has it! So get ready to turn heads and leave people wondering, what kind of SUV is that?

The second ad is a Craigslist listing, from the St. Louis metro region. this truck looks very similar to the one above, right down to the 24 inch chrome rims. According to the listing:

This time, the asking price is $12,500. Its very uncanny that there would be two White Ramchargers with the same equipment in the country, but take a look for yourself. What do you think of this Mexican Beauty?
