Radwood LA was a blast however the amount of we could do without frosted tips for a few weeks…days. #radwood #radwoodla

Radwood swept into Los Angeles this weekend, and it took up residence on the top two floors of the parking structure at the Petersen Museum. As 80’s and 90’s vehicular excellent rolled in, so too did the folks who came to take it all in. The spots were filled. The people were rad. And the location proved a great place in which to soak up the Radwood era and its wares.

At the Petersen parking structure, there was plenty of room between cars and people. This led to easy strolling and an enjoyable event. Additionally, if people wanted a Radwood break, the museum was open and available for a look at different eras (for a separate entry fee).

Holding Radwood LA at the Petersen proved successful in our eyes. But it’s also fun to see the event continue to evolve and invade new homes. What’s the perfect place for a future Radwood event? Not centered on LA, but anywhere.

When I think of the 1980s I think of the World’s Fair. Apparently Knoxville has a nice park there now. It was basically like the World Showcase side of Epcot.

I assume Miami is already on the list, so my next pick would be the Berlin Wall.

It might be a different kind of 80’s nostalgia, but somewhere in suburban Chicago, for the John Hughesian vibes.

I was really thinking Shermer High School or similar (Wrigley Field doesn’t really have the sort of parking conducive to a car show), but considering it’s an office for the Illinois State Police now, I’m not sure they’d approve of such shenanigans.

Sioux City, roughly halfway between I-80 and I-90. Or maybe Lake Minnehaha Indiana, where the two come together.

For completely selfish reasons, somewhere within a few hour drive of my house.

The DeLorean Museum, which is actually just the parking lot of The DeLorean Motor Company, in suburban Houston, Texas.

The parking lot of Twin Pines Mall would be a good one, too. Or, depending on when you book it, Lone Pine Mall.

    Dallas.
There’s a whole 90’s gaming thing going on that would be perfect.
