Hooniverse Asks: What’s a non-car-specific part or item you were excited to receive in the mail?

Yesterday, I received a package from Amazon. I was excited because I recently ran out of this stuff, but now my garage necessities are once again whole. This isn’t a post about an overpriced tool that I wanted or some hard-to-find car parts. Instead, I’m excited because I’ve been out of isopropyl alcohol for months now and I’ve finally re-upped.

I first remember the magic of the isopropyl when it was shared with me via Hooniverse co-founder Mr. Mad Science. We were working on the HoonTruck and he gave me a spray bottle with a piece of tape on it that said ISO. He said spray that part and wipe off the grease. I sprayed, wiped, and was amazed at how easily the gunk and crap slid off the part.

“What is the glorious elixir?” I asked. He seemed befuddled that I didn’t know what isopropyl alcohol was but mildly amused to provide some learning for the day. Ever since then, I’ve enjoyed using this non-basic bitch for all sorts of jobs that require some easy cleanup work. The latest task? A badge already fell off the side of The Jag, so I’m going to clean up the badge and where it mounts using the alcohol before applying the adhesive. And I’m happy to do so. Welcome back to the garage you glorious danger juice.

How about you, do you have a non-car-specific item you’ve been excited to receive in the mail? Let us know below!

Something I knew was coming, or something that was a total surprise? If the latter, then an unsolicited package from the bank I already had a mortgage with, offering to refinance the loan. No fees, and the rate dropped by 2%.

If the former, then Hooniverse stickers.
