It’s been a long and harrowing journey, but there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. The Frankenstein’s monster known as the FX32 has neared completion (there are some loose ends to zip-tie up) and rests today on a trailer, ready to be hauled to its eventual destruction glory on the smooth pavement of Sonoma Raceway.
A theme of Tweedledee and Tweedledumb selected, on Saturday, the paint was applied with painstaking care… ok, let’s be honest – we used the miss-mixed clearance housepaint from the local home improvement store.
So without further delay, I present you with the beauty shots of the FX and teammate MRolla, parked jauntily on a dead-end street near the freeway. Syringes available, but not pictured…
I can't wait to go to my first Lemons race this weeked. I'll be wearing a Hooniverse shirt. Please say hi to me. I need validation from my fellow man.
It's an addiction only curable by racing. Trust me.
The only reason we liked you was the Phaeton. Now you're nothing!
Jim, i'll be working the penalty box Saturday and Sunday. Come say HI!! Also, my friends will be driving the My Little Pony Mustang. You can't miss it.
*sigh*, I am bummed that I elected to skip this race. Lots of teams that I enjoy watching will be racing around Sears. Alas, my wallet is thanking me, and hopefully I can catch you guys at Buttonwillow in June.
Same here, in my case thanks to a work commitment. My own options are rapidly narrowing to The Ridge and Thunderhill.
I'm not sure I'll go to Thunderhill or Sonoma again. I love the tracks but it's a 600 mile trek. With gas prices the way they are, towing my pile up there would make fueling my tow rig cost more than actually racing. I'll probably be sticking to the races at Buttonwillow and Chuckwalla.
Pffft, for us, it's 750 miles each way.
I'm not looking for sympathy, heh. Usually after every race, I'm so burned out from working on the car that I don't want to touch it for months. The two SoCal races are usually 6 months apart, so it's usually most convenient for me to do those races anyway.
You guys have fun. I'd love to make it to the race but instead I'll be getting settled down in Palm Beach.
Nice Panera Bread colors. I would say to have fun but that's a given.
I was thinking "Bilious yellow and vomit green… AWESOME!"
For that matter, thinking of eating at Panera makes me think of bile and vomit. Guess I'm weird that way.
thats awesome! cant wait til we some racing videos of that thing in action!
What's that protruding from the front bumper of the FX32?
I'm not quite sure why I'm getting a Saks Fifth Avenue/Manolo Blahnik shoes & handbags ad on this page. What is it about LeMons/the fx32 that made Google Ads say: that's a great tie-in?!?
