Ross & Chris welcome David Tracy to the show. David is an editor at Jalopnik. He has a ton of experience with buying older Jeeps sight-unseen, a German minivan, his current Lexus LX470, and now a Jeep FC-170. David has also worked at Chrysler during the development of the Jeep JL model line.

I might have been typing too quickly…
Creative typo! I can’t recall any Jalopnik contributors named Kevin in the last 15 years.
I met David a little over a week ago in Stanwood, WA. He is indeed quite keen on Jeeps but I have to give him credit as only the second person in my five-ish years of ownership to look at my Volvo 66 GL and immediately ask “Hey, isn’t that a DAF?” Well done.
How close to you did you get to him?! Hope you & the 66 have both had a tetanus shot recently.
Note: I am not a doctor, and that may not be how fatal oxidation nor vaccines work. But you can’t be too careful around DT & his affinity for rust.
The 66 looks okay in photos but it was already doing quite nicely with its own crop of rust when I got it and I’ve since been entirely supportive of its efforts. As for myself, my MS thesis was on oxidation, so I’m always interested in practical applications in the field.
