The World’s Worst Car Is For Sale On Craigslist

Welcome to Craigslist Crapshoot, our weekly search for the most bizarre, awesome, and/or terrible vehicles that the online classifieds has to offer.

Last week’s drive down the classifieds rabbit hole had you looking for screaming’ deals. We’ll see who received the biggest shout out in a minute, but first we need to attend to this week’s business.

Whether its a piano or an engine, there’s nothing worse than being out of tune. In fact, that’s so much the case with certain cars that an entire industry exists to not only ensure they are in tune, but that they go far beyond their original state of factory tune. That’s what I want this week, Tuner Cars. AMG, Dinan, Calloway, the works. And this time money is no object. In fact, let’s see what we can find for both the cheapest and the most expensive tuner cars out there.

As always, we want your finds to go down in infamy and not in the site’s spam filter. Follow any of the following advice and you’re crap will be known far and wide.

  1. Easiest way to not get caught in the spam filters is to create an IntenseDebate account. If you do so and your posts aren’t appearing, let us know at tips@hooniverse.info and we can put you on the whitelist
  2. If you don’t want an IDC account, you can create a wordpress.com account and do the same thing.
  3. If you’re the Ted Kaczynski type and don’t want any kind of account, then try to place only a single link in a comment and just drop any outgoing link in via its raw URL and not as a text link
Craigslist Crapshoot doesn’t work if your candidates don’t get seen, so hopefully following one of these options will ensure that the floodgates of crap are fully open. Make the jump, and let’s see last week’s coolest deal.

It’s pretty much a rule of thumb that if someone is going to go to the trouble of placing an ad for a car, they’re probably going to want more for it than if you just walked down their driveway and offered cash for whatever was collecting leaves next to the garage. That being said, there were a number of surprises in last week’s haul, including a nice ’68 Mustang for five-large Canadian that Devin found. Unfortunately that car’s ad doesn’t seem to still be around, but the one pic shows a car that looks to be well worth its asking.

Another ad asking five grand – this time not maple soaked – was for this rough and ready, and Chevy-powered, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, found by Neen85. Now, not only does that seem like a pretty good deal for an FJ, but it’s also not bad for a similarly spec’d Jeep either. Well Done, Neen85!
