Blogging the Bloggers: CarDomain's Jen Dunnaway

We are lucky to have Amber as a contributing member for Hooniverse, but in the world of Automotive Blogs, the number of women either contributing or editing are far too few. I have been lucky enough to know three others who are among the best automotive writers in the blogosphere; Brandy Schaffels (who is currently freelancing), Katherine Helmetag at CarDomain, and the subject of this posting, Jen Dunnaway, who is an editor for CarDomain. Since I’m telling this story, it will be very brief. This is a girl with a vast wealth of obscure automotive knowledge. She used to contribute to The Car Lounge over at VW Vortex updated Her Ride Page on CarDomain, describing her trials and tribulations she was experiencing with her 82 Escort. This is what got her noticed over at CarDomain, and when given the chance, she moved to Seattle from Ithaca, New York where she attended Cornell University. Yes, you read that right, a top flight car buff at an Ivy League College. And she is not afraid to get her hands dirty, or her knuckles bloody. If you look at the ride pages she maintains at Car Domain (Go to her page here) you will see that she actually has the rare genetic Hooniverse gene. Just look at the fleet of cars she owns: – a 1982 Ford Escort – a 1984 Ford Escort Diesel Wagon – a 1980 AMC Concord Coupe – a 1981 AMC Eagle Wagon She was actually working at a repair shop last year when she wasn’t at CarDomain, and wrote a few postings about the odd car that would show up there. I had the opportunity to work with her at the 2009 SEMA extravaganza and the work she produced was nothing less that outstanding. If you want to follow a rare breed in the Car Blogging community, take a look at CarDomain, and follow the postings of Jen Dunnaway. Who knows, you could be witnessing the next Jean Jennings. Photo Credits: Since she is going to kill me anyway, they are all from Jen Dunnaway’s Ride Pages at CarDomain.
