We’ve adored the cars even when they arrive with faults. That ends now, because there’s nothing to overlook anymore. The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage is the best car the British automaker has ever built.
Sure, a handful of credit is owed to technical partner AMG for making this so. These lines though, they’re Aston Martin lines. The driving experience is one belonging to the brand as well.
Under the hood is the AMG-borrowed 503 horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. Behind it sits a ZF-sourced eight-speed transaxle controlled via paddles set behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Everything inside the car works, and works well. There are no excuses to be drummed up over persistent warning lights. No fancy prose to describe poor-shifting gearboxes in a positive light. Just pure performance in a prepossessing package.
Yes, a Porsche 911 Turbo will be faster… but the Vantage driver will arrive with a wry smile knowing they have the more alluring machine.

This car is admittedly amazing in performance. I just can’t stop looking at the grille, which, with its unframed bottom, doesn’t look Aston-Martin-ish to me. It’s admittedly a small nit to pick on an awesome car I’ll never be able to afford, but the AM has had a recognizable (and very cool) face since the mid/late 50s, and this one doesn’t look at all like an Aston to me. In fact, it reminds me of a Tesla Model 3 with a hasty Krylon black application to simulate a grille.
That’s not complimentary.-

It might be the best Aston-Martin but it’s not the best looking. I agree with Zentropy about the grille – it looks stuck-on and unfinished.

I’ve become a fan of banana brakes this week, and this example doesn’t stop it.
Yellow cantis were cool when they had one or two pistons, but these elongated shapes…-
I wonder if the target audience cares about brake caliper colour? I can understand on Lamborghini, but does an Aston buyer want “look at me brake calipers”?

I’m as far from being able to afford this as one can be, but as soon as the video ended I went straight to the aston martin website to play with colors and wheels…
