Welcome to another Hooniverse Weekend, and once again, the Hooniverse Overlords have given me the keys to the site. And of course, it is my responsibility to try and keep you entertained with all sorts of mind blowing Automotive Oddities that I may find around the web. And look at what we have here… A mid 80’s Chrysler “K” Car Convertible that has been given a slight make-over in the way of extra chrome trim, a non factory color, and several distinctive touches. Does it work, or does it just say “Ick”… This car is currently for sale in the Los Angeles area, and according to the listing:

74,000 ORIGINAL mile car, but I rebuilt the engine anyway 5,000 miles ago. NO RUST EVER. Custom Mild Modification and customized parts. I tried to give this car a more 1975 1976 1977 1978 1979 look. The K Car was desinged in 1979 along with the Plymouth Reliant and Dodge Aries so these squared off bodies do have a more retro look to them. 2.2 Turbo 4 cylinder engine runs like new. Cold Air Conditioning, Power windows seats steering, new struts & shocks, newer tires NEW seats carpet & dash. Continental Kit and custom fender skirts. CD Player with all NEW SPEAKERS…sounds amazing. CUSTOM PARTS: 1960s Metal chrome emblems to replace the plastic ones, late 1970s Chrysler Hood Ornament, Early 80s Cadillac Eldorado style interior pattern, older hard plastic 1983 steering wheel with woodgrain inlay, Canadian Plymouth Caravelle Grill, dodge fenders and separated headlights, custom non factory metallic blue paint and blue conv top. If you want a rare MOPAR 1980s convettible here it is. Chrome mirrors to replace plastic ones, all emblems are vintage 60s. Wood removed from front fenders to give it the look of the 1946 1947 1948 Town and Country woody. New plastic regulators on rear windows you could eat off underside with zero rust. Everything works including the cruise control. Turbo works great TONS of power and great gas mileage. Small 12 gallon tank is cheap to fill up.

The paint color isn’t bad, and the current owner did a great job matching the convertible top to the new hue, but everything else is way over the top.
