Weekend Edition: Last Call: Get Prepared My Fellow Hoons

IMG_1228

While many of my fellow Hoons may be aware this past July 13 was Collector Car Appreciation Day, as set forth by the US Congress, how many of you are aware this Saturday, July 20th is Ugly Truck Appreciation Day?

With that this olelongrooffan sets forth the above image and challenges all of my fellow Hoons to come up with one better this coming weekend.

Stay t-Hooned.

  2. Made the trip back from granddad's last night in one sitting with the kid.
By the time we got halfway to Dallas from Texarkana we realized we had never made the trip within the time of sunup to sundown. This made the last leg of the trip more interesting as it had turned unto a TopGear Challenge®. Make it to his mom's before sundown or bust.
Some creative right lane passes and a gal running point in a Camaro made up time we'd lost before we knew we were in a TG Challenge®. Roll up to the house, he makes a break for the door- runs past his mom and into the superhyper paws of Shelby the Dog. He then hugs his mom, looks out the door with an "L" to his head, proclaiming us the victors and the sun the loser.
    Tally- 980 miles, 24mpg, 73mph.
Lost time, gained mpg stuck behind what looked to be a Tennessee State Trooper but was actually a local yokel out of his town. Lasted from east Knoxville to the curvy part of the Cumberland Plateau. Saw about a dozen S197s Mustangs, 5-6 Camaros and Challengers, various Chevy PPV and Chargers in cop spec, transporter full of Teslas, and 2 Roadmasters. One of which held tight with my though the twistys in the mountains (an old-timer who's wife never pulled her nose from her book).
Can you tell I love roadtrips with the kid?
