Trolling Facebook Pages seems to be an hobby of mine lately, and it really is a great source of subject material that I can share with all of you on the weekends. As you know, we here at Hooniverse love the Station Wagon, and one from an independent mark is even better. Well, here is a cheap enough AMC Hornet Sportabout from Arizona that should brighten any ones day…
I found this listing on the Brown Car Appreciation Society Facebook Page, where there seems to be an active membership that posts anything and everything Brown (there is even a custom UPS truck that was shown at SEMA). Well, this Chocolate Brown Runabout was highlighted, and according to the Craigslist listing:
1973 AMC Hornet Sportabout, 106,000 miles, PS, AC, AT, straight 6, hatchback. just fixed the carburetor, passes emissions and runs great!
Ahhh, short and to the point. The asking price for this Hornet is a very reasonable $2,000, but there are a few issues. First, the front seats don’t match the rear seats… What’s up with that? Those aftermarket Plastic Wheelcovers have to go (I would even prefer nothing at all to these), and, well, that’s about it. Take a look at the listing here, and tell me what you think.
