We Are The Champion, We Are The Champion

So, yesterday when this olelongrooffan did my post about a stroll down Highway 31 and posted the above image, little did I realize it would be an inadvertant Mmystery car. muthalovin, showing infinite restraint, did not guess NSX although he was correct right out of the box. Today, I thought I might share the few images I did gather of that NSX wannabe.

It is, in fact a Studebaker Champion will nearly all of its exterior components in place. If my fellow Hoons will note, all of the identification emblems on the front corners of this beauty are still in place. I just couldn’t bear to remove these extremely rare emblems from this car as I am quite confident that should a collector acquire this car, whether for parts or restoration, these emblems will be extremely welcome. Guess this olelongrooffan is just gettng sentimental in my old age.

It was interesting to note that all of the car doors I opened in this yard that day were easily to operate and it seemed as if all of the seals were still fairly weather tight.

And something not seen around much these days, these suicide doors are, IMHO, pretty damn cool. Hope to see them on a new Conty one of these days soon.

And it was interesting to note, this olelongrooffan did not see a conventional longroof anywhere in that yard. Hopefully, I’ll have better luck next time.
