It is fair to say that anyone who calls themselves a fan of Formula 1 has seen at least a few of Ayrton Senna‘s laps around the famous Monaco circuit. What is unfortunate is all of that video has been recorded with early 1990’s video and audio technology. It still amazing but its quality cannot be compared to modern video technology.
Now, a dude by the name of Liam Freeman has taken a short piece of that old video and enhanced it somehow. As per his tweet, it is now at 60 frames-per-second, which sounds like a good thing, and the audio is also enhanced. The result, as seen below, is rather amazing. I’ve only watched it seventeen times.
I decided to restore onboard of Senna at Monaco in 1990 to run in 60fps and clearer audio.
My word does it make it feel so much more alive! pic.twitter.com/ioPLOHwJ1v
