Say hello to Chelsea DeNofa. He’s part of the team running Ford Mustangs in the current season of Formula Drift. He’s also regularly posting to his own YouTube channel, where he delivers some great videos including several where he coaches drifting techniques. The video above is not one of those videos, but one captured by a fan in the stands during the St. Louis round of the 2018 FD season. Here you can see DeNofa delivering a run with so much angle his legal middle name has been changed to Protractor.
Chelsea is part of the RTR team alongside teammate Vaughn Gittin Jr. Under the hood of this battle-prepped Pony cars you’ll find Roush-Yates built V8s that make over 9oo horsepower and rip to 9,000 rpm.
And DeNofa’s car can clearly get all the way sideways. While the angle is impressive, I’m more impressed that he stayed on it and kept on trucking. Major credit should be given to chasing driver Matt Field. He also stayed on the throttle and kept his C6 Corvette pushing hard. In fact, Field wound up in the second spot overall while DeNofa finished in third. Both drivers were bested by Fredric Aasbo.
…but no one is besting all of that nasty angle that DeNofa threw down.

That was more than 90 degrees out of line. In fact, I’d say that was more of an “oh, $#!+” than an “oh yeah”.

It may have been Oh Shit, but staying on the throttle shows a level of “I’ve Got This” as well
