We’d like to draw your attention to this bargain of a 2002 Audi A6. It’s sporting a 2.7L bi-turbo engine, six speed manual transmission and of course, Audi quattro all wheel drive. It’s been tastefully upgraded with Eibach suspension components and 17″ OZ Rally Ultra Leggera Wheels. Also, it may or my not be owned by my father…
We’re obviously not exactly an unbiased source on this one, but we can speak from experience that this is an incredible touring car. The suspension tweaks and six speed make it much more of a driver’s car than the auto-only 4.2L. The meandering sierra foothills are pure bliss in this machine.
While the engine’s been left un-touched (aside from rigorous maintenance at the Audi dealer), there’s a cornucopia of modifications available, from a nice stage I up through blow-your-face-off. Even in stock form, I’m certain the 250hp rating is conservative. The pull from just off-idle is shocking. In all but the tightest of quarters, it’ll give my WRX a run for its money.
So what’s the downside? Well, it’s a twin-turbo Audi with 89k miles on the clock. You will be spending money to maintain it. Luckily, you won’t be addressing any deferred maintenance issues, as it’s been well cared for. Also, it’s priced to sell at a mere $9950.
If you happen to be in Northern California (or have a friend that is) and have a hankering for a near-invisible Q-ship, this could be the one for you. If you’ve got doubts, a brief stint behind the wheel will likely erase them.
