Suzuki Jimny RV

This overland-ready Suzuki Jimny is the cutest RV on the planet

I’d love to have a ready-to-roll overland setup. There are no plans to convert my Montero to something like this. So it would need to be a different vehicle. Something small would be nice, as it would prove easy to park when not in use and maneuverable on most trails. It’s too bad we don’t get the Suzuki Jimny here then, because that would make a perfect little weekend warrior camper… and I’ve got proof because we found one for sale.

Suzuki Jimny RV

The Market in the UK has a listing on its auction site for a converted camper build on the back of a 2003 Jimny. The result is tidy yet massively intriguing. We have a small footprint and seemingly a great use of interior space. This is a 3rd-gen Jimny and it’s powered by a little 1.3-liter inline four-cylinder engine making around 84 horsepower and a bit over 80 lb-ft of torque. That’s not a ton but this rig probably doesn’t weigh much. Still, it would be fun to beef up the output of that engine a little bit.

From there, I’d add paint and swap out the silly wheel and tire setup. And after that, it just needs beers and meats in the fridge, a place to put a folding seat, maybe an awning, and a bike rack. Then hit the road. Spend a weekend in the wild and see more stars than you’ve seen in years. And it wouldn’t cost you a ton to do so, as the auction house estimates this should fetch between £4,000 and £8,000.

Love it. That’d be a great solo weekend getaway vehicle.

I’m not a fan of the wheels, but I’m amazed at how much stuff they were able to add to such a small truck. I dig it.

On one hand, I’m not sure how much sense it makes – moving up to a Defender/Land Cruiser troop carrier or even just working with a Tacoma wouldn’t have a ton of downside.

On the other hand, I’d love to give it a proper 70’s paint job and rebrand it as a Casa Pequeño.

One of the JDM vehicles that I’d buy is the Mitsubishi Pajero Mini. Too bad they don’t have a removable top to do something like this w/o cutting it up.
