The RSR Rebel is a glorious ode to past Porsche glory
…and it ain’t cheap

The RSR Rebel Porsche 911is a beautiful and brutal ode to the race cars from a bygone era.

RSR Rebel cars pay homage to the Porsche 917 race cars. These were wicked machines that went crazy fast while wearing equally insane color schemes. These now iconic cars are remembered by, not just Porsche fans, but fans of motorsport in general.

The RSR Rebel cars are going to be finished in the same paint schemes. But here they are applied to Porsche 911 cars from 1972 – 1973. They look amazing. Drive fantastically. And costs BUCKETS of money…

That car sounds amazing. I, however, remain one of those anti-purists that hate the RS ducktail spoiler, and even prefer the narrower rear fenders of the base model car. And despite being very well-done, I wouldn’t want to own a car wearing Gulf (or Martini, Alitalia, BMW Motorsport, etc.) colors. Unless you’re Grady Davis, putting racing livery on a street-driven car is kind of pretentious. I’d want the mechanicals of this car in a more no-nonsense, inconspicuous package– maybe plain white with black steelies. But, to each his own.

Regardless, the RSR Rebel is a remarkable machine. That engine sound almost gives me goosebumps.

Saw a Ford Ranger Raptor with a battle-scarred Gulf livery. A lot of money for a novelty that surely would wear thin quickly.

Yep. I’d want this package on a stealthier color scheme. Same thoughts…
