You don’t see this every day.  Guys racing their hot rods on a dirt track.  Where do you find such entertainment?  Why, New Zealand of course.  The Jalopy Dust Up is an annual event held at the scenic Waihi Beach dirt track.  Click through for video action of Krazy Kiwi kulture.

Try as I might, I just can’t see American hot rod owners doing this with their cars.  Perhaps there are some.  Hats off to the New Zealanders in this video who are enjoying their cars for what they were built for – driving!  (Yes, with an exclamation point.)

There were even a few vintage midgets that showed up.  Those who know me know I have a real soft spot for vintage midgets. 

Who wouldn’t want to drive on the Waihi Beach track, it looks like a great place to be.  I now have a new vacation destination on my bucket list.
