Spy Shots: A pickup truck, probably a Ford but we’re not sure

Ford has announced that they will show the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 on June 25th. We will be there, virtually, for that unveiling and we will give you the details on it the next day, when we sober up. The only thing we do know so far is that the F-150 will still be a pickup truck and that there will be electrified versions.

To confirm that, we have these pictures of a camouflaged pickup truck that we think is the new Ford F-150. The Hooniverse Spy Photographer saw this truck in Colorado, undergoing what we think are high altitude testing. With it was a current generation F-150 with Michigan manufacturer plates. That said, we still know nothing about it other than the fact that we just saw a pickup truck.

If you know more about this truck than we do, and we know nothing about it, drop it in comments.

Isn’t that the fate of every “most popular”-model? Try telling all the generations of Golf apart on a trip to Germany…when a recipe works, changes tend to be minor.

yeah, from the 2004 F-150 onwards they have just gotten more angular with a taller grille,. It’s not like the transition to and from the 97-03 “aero body” F-150, which was very different looking from both the previous and succeeding generations. I wish one of the big 3 would buck the trend and go away from “fierce face” design language and emphasize a lower entry height and especially a lower loading height.

It’s the same type of camo that was on the Mustang Mach 1 and the bumper trim is identical to the F-150 it’s following. Seams reasonable to assume that it’s a Ford.

It’s the next-generation Mustang, disguised really well.

Plot twist – what if it’s a Hyundai full size truck?

I also saw this and another 3 or 4 just like it in the vicinity of Pikes Peak yesterday. Definitely Fords, even with the camo the design language was unmistakable.

They were driving the opposite direction, so I didn’t get pics or a very long look.

C&D published images of this truck over a month ago and confirmed that it’s an F150.
