Rambler Wagon Found Resting In The Woods

It's calling to me, and I can't resist its charms.
This beautiful Rambler was found on a recent drive along some of the Albertan back-roads.
I just love those lines. Now, to locate the owner!
As many of you know, I have a massive soft spot for Ramblers, and also a soft spot for wagons. Combining the two should make for a predictable result; as such, when CaffeineFuelled pointed this little beauty out, my head snapped around almost 180-degrees. When the words, “Holy shit, it’s a Rambler!” finally made it out of my mouth, CaffeineFuelled managed to pull one of the fastest U-turns I’ve seen on a single-lane dirt road with a truck that is actually longer than the road is wide. As I don’t have The Googles here at work, I’m left doing my best guess based on memory. But I think that it’s a ’62 Rambler Classic Cross-Country. It’s actually in surprisingly nice shape; Ramblers are not exactly renowned for their resistance to the dreaded oxides, so to see one this nicely intact was refreshing. As it was technically on someone’s property, and this is Alberta, where the phrase “shoot first and never mind the damn questions” is rather prevalent in many people’s minds, I didn’t want to get too close for too long, lest I end up with a buckshot haircut. Nevertheless, I could see the interior was in decent shape, if not pristine. Similarly, the bodywork is fixable, with much of it looking to need nothing more than a few hours with a power-buffer. This little beauty is the epitome of a salvageable project car. As soon as I have some cash — and a place to store the car — this may be one of the first cars I come back to rescue. CaffeineFuelled commented that my mentality towards project cars was like her mentality towards stray kittens; I just want to save them all, bring them with me and give them all a nice loving home. Is that so wrong?
