Podcast: Episode 19 – Lost Highway

David Lynch is a director that is loved by many a cinephile for his twisting, dark films. Personally I find his movies rather inane and focused on trying to hard to be twisting and dark. Still, his film Lost Highway is important to our podcast for Episode 19 for two reasons. The first is that we take the podcast on the road for this episode. Our guest is Travis Okulski from Jalopnik, who flies into Los Angeles from New York to attend an event. Blake and I pick him up at the airport in the 2013 Lexus LS600h L, and yes I did dress like a hipsterish chauffer for the occasion.

Leaving the airport, we take Travis out to the Pacific Coast Highway to travel through Santa Monica, Malibu, and further on up the coast. This brings me to the second reason why our podcast is related to Mr. Lynch’s film. While running up the coast, we give Travis the ultimate LA experience because we happen to run into a celebrity. I’ll let you listen in and hear that one for yourself, it happens towards the end.

(note:Since this was a fairly experimental episode, our audio isn’t up to its usual top notch levels. The intro is rough but cleans up very quickly. From there it goes up and down, but stays pretty solid after we get off the main highway and onto PCH.)

Revolutionary podcastitude! Everybody's going to be drivecasting next month. And it will be terrible, because they won't be doing it from an LS600h.
The sound was fine for 85%.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say I loved the format of this podcast. It was a car review, car discussion, car-geek public geek-out session and TMZ all rolled into one. Essentially a day out in LA with car-loving friends. Personally, I think you guys may want to consider doing a podcast like this once a month or even once every six weeks. Just keep the mic away from the A/C.

Little known fact about Gary Busey, he only kills you if you make eye contact with his insane eye. The crazy one just makes you uncomfortable.
