Mystery Car

mystery_car_15_08_14 On this date in 1899 Henry Ford officially became an automaker. Earlier in the month, while working as Chief Engineer at Detroit’s Edison Illuminating Company, he had assembled a group of investors to fund his start up, the Detroit Automobile Company, and on August 15th, he resigned that position. Ford turned down an offer from Edison of a substantial raise and elevation of title for the chance to start his own company and fuel his passion for cars. The Detroit Automobile Company folded less than two years later. The thought of quitting a steady job for the uncharted waters of an entrepreneurial venture is a daunting one, but fortunately all we have to tackle today is this week’s Mystery Car. As always, please enter your answers in the comments section below, and remember to go whole-hog when you do. That means make, model, year-range, and likely engine with your guess.
