This picture was probably taken before the NSX was a twinkle in Honda's eye, so it is for sure not this:

It could almost be a Renault 12, but it's not quite right:

My guess, and it's only a guess, is a 1973 Toyota Corona (Mk II) Coupe. Here is the only image I could find that would back up my guess…

Well, I did find another one… Notice the molding above the rear tail light. Similar to the picture….

That trunk lid and rear quarter screams Mark II to me as well. I can remember seeing the sedans, but not many coupes.

I think you may be right. Wikipedia's even got one with the chrome trim line tape stripe in the right place:

Those Moldings were a dealer of distributor installed option. I remember when the Subaru of New England distributor put them on every car, and called it the "Protection Package" Anyway, I think I'm right, and found the definitive proof here.

The distributors do a lot of strange things. I read one time that some Toyotas with pearl paint jobs were actually repainted (pearl white over the original plain white) at the port, by the distributor (Gulf States Toyota). They also did other things like adding alloy wheels.

Looks like you got it, but that's a regular Corona coupe, not the Mark II. Here are the first and second generation Mark II coupes.

There, that settles it. OK, that settles absolutely nothing. I know nothing. Just ask Mitch.

I have a bottle opener that does that. Well, it used to anyway. Now it spits a few clicks of static and quits. The most important thing is that it can still open bottles just fine.

Strange. At first glance I was thinking of the front end of a Crown, but then the rear end of a Corona is pretty damn similar.
