Morning Qualifying – History Lesson, Part III

I've made some adjustments to Cerebro….it's now Hooniverse compatible.

Please sit down, students. Due to the ongoing adamantium shortage, we must postpone the planned testicular fortification phase of Project Hooniverse WRC team for the foreseeable future.  Instead, we will continue our review of the outstanding Shell Films documentary on the History of Motor Racing.

Tazio Nuvolari driving his Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 to victory during the 1933 Mille Miglia.

In today’s film, we will see the last hurrah for the Bentley Boys at LeMans; the Bugatti T35 and T51’s being gradually overwhelmed in grand prix racing by state backed Alfa Romeo P3’s; and with it, the ascent of Tazio Nuvolari, and his fierce rivalry with Achille Varzi.  We’ll see Louie Mayer and Wilbur Shaw at a truly harrowing Indianapolis 500; MG Midgets and K3 Magnettes at the Ulster Tourist Trophy.  The dawn of the 750 kg grand prix formula, and the first appearance of the Auto Union Type A, with Hans Stuck Sr, and the Mercedes Benz W25, with Caracciola and von Brauchitsch.  And much, much more.
