Last Call: Will underglow ever make a modern comeback?

I feel like underglow is one of those mods that is only associated with JDM “ricer” culture from the early 2000s. However, I think that it has a lot of potential to make a modern comeback as you can see on this AMG GT. Granted this one has a widebody setup and aero everywhere, I still think it could have a revival. Sure it might not be “classy” but it looks cool and is certainly an eyecatcher. Plus, if you want a supercar that is this ostentatious, why not take it to the max!

I believe I spy some Japanese plates so it could be that this person is going for a JDM style but either way, I still like it. What do you think? Worth stopping to take a picture or is a glance all you need?

I have a friend from Cranston and I refuse to call him by his name, I just call him Cranston as if he’s some British lord. Some of the nicest people I ever met have left Rhode Island.

The suggested videos that pop up at the end are straight out of my browsing history. Steve Colbert, Amateur Radio, rustbuckets, physics, ancient history and … Geology? Wait are you Dr. Harrell?

I know it’s kind of dumb, and I’d never install that stuff on any of my cars, but, I still think it’s kind of cool in a “period correct” kind of way.

I spy Korean plates – together with the tire brand that would make a nice KDM theme, but for the car brand. Man, Hyundai needs a reachable halo car!

I had a ’94 Z28 back around 2004, it was legit fast if plasticky, oddly proportioned and outshined by the LS1 cars. I was underneath it at one point fixing this or that not long after I bought it when I found a lone “neon” light tucked up into the subframe that I didn’t see before I bought it. It kind of churned my stomach thinking that someone who thought that an appropriate modification for a Camaro was the prior owner. A V6 version at the bottom of the depreciation curve, sure thing, but it just seemed wrong on my car.

I could see it work in some cases, but highly vehicle dependent and execution is everything.
