Last Call: SOTU is coming…

Gird your loins, it’s the most project car-tastic time of the year. Next week we’ll be rolling out a number of posts updating the status of our wide range of project cars and bikes.
If you want to take a trip down memory lane, here’s a link to past SOTU endeavors.
Last Call indicates the end of the Hooniverse broadcast day.  It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

Depressingly, I could nearly go back to whatever I wrote last time and it would still apply. Probably things have gone backwards overall…

Likewise, but I’ve lost my mojo with the Eunos Roadster/Miata. Blame it on just not having a good run with this car (bought just before deciding to buy a house, it got neglected for way too long, got the sills repaired, weren’t done properly, neither was the remedial work under warranty, two attempted breakins) and well I guess I’ve just done the Miata thing before with better examples, so this feels like a shadow of those cars.
Miata is always the answer, except when it’s not, and I think I need something a little quirkier to fire up the mojo again. Not going to say what the next move is till I’ve got it though.
I’ve offered a friend first refusal on the Eunos, and I hope he takes me up on it, because there’s something nice about knowing your old cars go to good hands rather than disappear into the sunset.

To jump on the Miata theme, I think the answer is just drive the car! In particular find a fun drive to do, like just literally head for the hills, something a bit different from the normal commute.
As an example, on the weekend I drove a rental Iveco Daily van a couple of hundred miles which was great mostly because it was a different experience.

That’s the thing, I drove something else. 😉
