Last Call- How's Your Commute Again? Edition

In Colombia, when you live on one side of the Rio Negro river, and your school is on the other, it’s not soccer moms in SUVs delivering the kids to class, it’s a tarzan-besting quarter-mile long zip line that whisks them there at over 40 mph. While not one of the three Rs, hooning is obviously something these kids would get an A+ in.

    Colombia… not Columbia, S.C.

Well… The down-hill leg to school would be fast and fun… But is there a private helicopter available to get the students home…? Or do they have to swim across the Rio Negro and climb a mountain?

Good point. Maybe they have donkeys or something to pull them back up the cable. That or they have monster biceps so they can pull themselves…

For some reason, I can't see Hooniverse at work any more. It has been this way since the site moved to the new server. I tried flushing the local DNS without any effect. I can't touch the corporate networking systems. Does anybody have an idea about how to force it to work?

Thanks for the incoming spam, Jeff.
Ummm…I have no answer beyond the obvious:
      Clear cache
      Clear cookies
      Switch to Chrome
When you say "can't see" does that mean it completely fails to load? Do you get a 404? Does your work filter it?

It works now! Maybe I just had to log out of and back into IntenseDebate.
Mad_Science, It was as if the Hooniverse were stuck at "Hold on Loosely." I could see the comments from new posts in the right side bar but no new posts are appearing in the center. If I clicked the title of the comment in the sidebar to jump to the new post, I get the 404. I tried clearing cookies, flushing DNS, and Chrome, Firefox (on Ubuntu and on Windows), and IE three different browsers.
Last night I logged in from home on Safari and was able to see the live site so I posted the comment above. This morning I logged back into IntenseDebate at work and viola!

I have the same issue at home. It continually times out. I've tried increasing my timeout settings; tried IE and nothing.
Now this morning at work, the pictures aren't loading on the homepage. Just black bars.
I sent an email to the tips@hooniverse.com address with a pic attached.

Hell, those kids have it easy with their downhill zip lines. When I was I kid going to our jungle school, our zip lines were uphill! Both ways! And we didn't have those fancy seats either, we had to use barbed wire! And it always snowed when it wasn't raining snakes…

Hah! In Arizona our zip-lines were made of barbed-wire, and we didn't have any of those fancy-schmancy trolley thingies, you just rode them (both ways uphill) with your bare hands. And snakes raining from the sky would just bring all the people out to praise the powers that be of our good fortune. The dust-devils full of Gila Monsters would often give you pause though, as well as the clouds of bat-scorpions that buzzed by your head at night….
