Last Call- Git Yer Programs Here! Edition

From the first Daytona 500 in 1959- programs cost a buck, the race was a “sweepstakes” and Lee Petty wasn’t declared the winner of the photo-finish race until three days after it was over. The controversy surrounding the finish helped make Daytona’s  debut legendary, and the track, to this day, rivals Indy as the most revered in American racing.

That NASCAR oval and the infield track is where the legendary Rolex24Hours of Daytona is run. What Fun that whole experience is.

But I have this to say about that. Nothing costs only a buck at the Daytona International Speedway these days.
But I still Celebrate Life out there.

One dollar for a program in 1959 sounds expensive to me, although the CPI Calculator at http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl equates it to $7.45. That sounds like a lowball estimate to me.
