Last Call: 1,000 hp Toyota MR2 makes me very happy

With all the sad news of car events being canceled going around, allow me to try and brighten your day with this. The lightweight body of a Toyota MR2, only this one has 1,000 hp courtesy of a turbocharged 3S-GTE. This is totally insane and completely dangerous and for those reasons, you have to love it.

You can tell by all the meat it’s packing at the rear and the parachute that it’s no stranger to the drag strip. Plus, judging by this dyno performance I’m sure it’ll hold it’s own just fine against just about anything. I’m curious what the power to weight ratio on this thing is considering it’s probably gutted too. There’s just something about crazy dyno pulls that forces a smile onto my face and I’m hoping it does the same for you. Word to the wise, be careful viewing this video because this thing is LOUD!

Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, but it’s also encouraged.

Should have decent traction but in a drag racing sense held back by the manual – surely building a Toyota Camry auto to hold 1000hp would be a big ask?

This just means we need a 1000hp Fiero to race it.
