Hooniverse Weekend Edition Review – The Showdown Editions

It the weekend, and every so often I try and produce some exclusive content for our fans. We call these postings showdowns, where we highlight two, three, or more vehicles, and then ask which one would you rather own, drive, or blow-up. So with this Weekend Edition Review, I thought I would bring out some of these “showdown” postings, just in case you missed them before….

My first few showdown posts used inventory from the St. Louis Car Museum. My first was one of the most talked about match-ups throughout the weekend, as I pitted an early International Travelall against a relative unknown, a Frazer Vegabond utility hatchback sedan. See the original posting here.

Continuing on with the St. Louis Car Museum Showdown Postings, here is a matchup between a 1943 Boeing Stearman and a 1950 North American T-28A. Hey is there is Planoplnik, why not Hooniplane?

How about 1964 Desirability between an Impala 409 SS or an Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Convertible.

Then I had a Maximum Convertible Weekend, in which there was a showdown between a 1936 Ford Phaeton and a 1935 Studebaker Dictator Phaeton.

One of the most talked about weekend showdowns was between a 1979 MGB and A 1980 Triumph TR7 Roadster.

On a different weekend, I offered these two Buicks with an asking price of $7,950.

One of my favorite showdowns was this 5 way showdown of cars priced under $9,000. Now I ask you, are any of them desirable?
See more postings like this later this afternoon….

Honestly, had I the funds, they would all be in my driveway. Well, perhaps my warehouse. And dammit, I would drive them all every month.

I like the MGB…even better in the GT form…ugly rubber bumpers, and all!

I never get tired of looking at them.
I do however get tired of fixing them at the worst possible moments in time.

I'll take the T28, with a drop tank and some hardpoints.

I for one am a huge fan of Hooniplane, I would take a J-3 over each of those because the thought of having to maintain one of those would be one hell of a task.
