This is a 1929 Rolls Royce 20HP Chassis that was mated to a Wooden Structure Wagon Body sometime during the 1050’s. This was suppose to be one of the last 20HP Chassis produced, and the seller has the build sheet for the Wagon Body. So is this Rolls Royce a Blue Chip Collectible? The body was done by a professional coachbuilder in England in the early 50’s, we have the build sheet. The car runs great, starts & drives like a Rolls would… nearly perfect. This car has 4 wheel brakes with Servo assist (power brakes) It has the whole car central oiling system It has the original wheel covers over very nice wire wheels. The interior is leather and wood, graded at 95% The paint is 90% The bright work is 90% Tires are new Ready for the road or show circuit…

These types of rebodies were done to renowned classics all the time during the 40’s and the 50’s, and while many of them were remarkable, they were still altered from their original state. Yes, the wood body is remarkable, and it great shape for its age. but it is at least 22 years newer than the chassis, and I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around that. Rebody or not, that isn’t a lot of money for a classic Rolls Royce of any vintage, and I’m not sure that this car will sell on eBay. It might take another type of auction to get it sold, probably at Monterrey, or one of the Spring Arizona Auctions.
