Hooniverse Neo-Classical Weekend – The Godfather Roadster and Sedan

Welcome to the Hooniverse Neo-Classical Weekend, where we can collectively hurl at some of the most crass-worthy vehicles that were ever conceived. I decided to take it up just a notch to see if the fans of Hooniverse can actually defend any of these rolling horrors. First off, we have three “Godfathers”; A roadster made from a Lexus SC430, another roadster made from a Cadillac XLR, and finally a sedan using a Lincoln Town Car as the base for the creation.

The Godfather Roadster is a luxurious car that was transformed by Tony Palazzi of Palazzi Motorcars. Designed to reflect a neo-classical Excalibur-style design and built upon any rear wheel drive automobile, with the modern technology of today, the “spirited craftsmanship” of the Godfather Roadster is unparalleled in the line-up of customized automobiles. Throughout his 20 year career, Palazzi managed to created many customized cars but he feels that the Godfather Roaster is the ultimate. In his words, it is an instant classic with the heritage and visual characteristics of yesterday and all of the conveniences of todays automobiles. Palazzi started with the 2002 to 2005 Ford Thunderbird (The Retrobird) and basically lengthened the wheelbase, added the classic styled front end, added some fiberglass inlays over the rear (to tie in with the neo-classical front end) and the rest was stock T-Bird.

This is a 2003 Lexus SC 430 Retractable Hardtop Convertible, customized as a Godfather Roadster. Based on a Lexus SC 430 frame, all Lexus mechanicals, Original Lexus Interior, Original Lexus Doors and Retractable Hardtop. Lexus Rear Body. Front End Body resembles an “Excalibur Roadster” – including The Excalibur Hood ornament. This car is showing almost 90,000 miles on the odometer, and the selling price for this rolling tribute to bad taste is $69,900. See the dealer listing here, and tell me what you think of the little details, the craftsmanship, and who you think would own it.

This is a 2008 Cadillac XLR that was transformed into a Godfather Roadster by Tony Palazzi. The listing states that this is the only one ever created, with an original cost of over $160,000. This Godfather Roadster was hacked from a Cadillac XLR hardtop convertible, and still has the 4.6 L Northstar 32-valve V-8 320-HP and the 6-speed automatic w/od auto -manual transmission. The interior is all XLR, as is most of the rear portion of the body. The distinctive Cadillac LED tail lamps have been filled in, and single “Classic Style” bullet exposed tail lamps are utilized. The asking price for this thing is $99,999, and you have to go read the listing to see how the dealer decided on the price. It is hideous, mind blowing, and nauseating, but what do you think of it?

This is what’s left of a 2005 Lincoln Town Car after being transformed into a “Godfather” Sedan. From what I can gather, this particular car was transformed by the same “Master Builder” Tony Palazzi, and everything that makes it a Lincoln is still utilized; the interior, the drive-train, and most of the body. The front end was extended, and the same neo-classical front end styling that the other two cars received is tacked on, along with some rather “tacky” rear fiberglass fender trim. The large Lincoln Tail Lamps are gone, replaced with the same type that was used for the XLR Roadster thingy. Asking price for this “Godfather of Somethingorother” is $84,900, which is a lot of money for an eight year old Town Car with 35,000 miles. See the listing here, and tell me what you would do to this “Godfather”
